It’s very difficult when you have an idea of a design in your head and you need to convey this idea to someone else … so I made a Pinterest board.
The idea for our logo that was floating around haphazardly in my mind consisted of a vintage 1950’s tattoo style with maybe teacups, crowns, hearts … quaint but with a sex pistols edge! I knew I liked the colours pink and turquoise together and the name was going to be Vintage Rocks.

Now, you’re probably conjuring up an image of my logo in your head which is completely different to mine, as did my friends, my mum, my nan, my brother, my sister-in-law, my daughter and my fiance!! That’s the thing, everything is open to interpretation when it comes to design!
There was only one thing for it, I installed Photoshop on my lappy and had a crack at it myself.
I used to use Photoshop a lot for adverts, posters etc when I had my flooring shop a few years ago but it’s surprising how quickly your brain empties out information that it thinks it will never need again!
The logo started out quite basic but as I added more and more layers it eventually evolved into something that satisfied my somewhat uncoordinated concept…perhaps not as grungy punk as I had liked but I got an end result that I was quite proud of … My Nan says she likes it anyway!!
What do you think …??
